Picnic at Hanging Rock on BBC2 Wednesday 11th July 📺❤️💋

Wednesday 11th July at 9:05pm BBC2 will bring their remake of this Australian mini drama. Originally a novel first published in 1967 later released as a film in 1975.

Natalie Dormer stars as Hester Appleyard the Headmistress of Appleyard College. On Valentine’s Day whilst going for a picnic 3 girls and their governesses go missing. What happens next is the effect this has on the College and local community.

There has been a lot said as to whether this was based on a true story or not. Novelist Joan Lindsay did not dispel the rumours and created more mystery. It is said  a lot of the story came in a dream and she wrote the book over 2 weeks. Whether it’s true or not I think it just adds to the intrigue and mystery of the story, don’t you think?

  1. I am going to have to watch this in iPlayer as, surprise, surprise, a certain football match took priority on Wednesday, haha. I saw the original film (but not the later remake) and it was so spooky, I loved it. I adore Natalie Dormer so I’m definitely going to be watching this series! x

    1. Thank god for iplayer right I use so much more now especially when I have so many clashes. I’d not heard about it before BBC did this version but definitely looking forward to watching 😍 x

  2. I’ve seen this promoted all over the BBC. I might give it a go on iPlayer as I’ve started watching BBC dramas that I wouldn’t usually watch – I’ve found some weren’t my cup of tea (Ordeal by Innocence) but really loved other ones (Keeping Faith) x
