If you are a regular follower of my Sunday Update you will know that The Great Christmas Bake Off is on Channel 4 on Christmas Day at 7:40pm but did you also know it’s on again on New Years Day at the same time?

Bake Off fans I haven’t really watched I will admit only bits of it but have to be honest I prefer this line up to Mel and Sue sorry!

I just wanted to share this video with you all of them paying homage to East 17’s Stay Another Day and guess what? E17’s very own Tony Mortimer makes a cameo on the show

So enjoy and be sure to keep up to date with all Channel 4’s latest news on their website: Channel 4 Website

Happy Viewing 📺❤️💋

Fangirling Moments 📺❤️💋

I’m a huge Twitter fan and couldn’t think of another platform that allows me to interact more with my TV 📺 obsessions 😍 we follow all our faves on the platform and whilst it’s not always a genuine account those with that infamous blue tick are verified as true and correct.

Imagine my excitement this last week that I have had some true fangirling moments starting with my tweet about Ransom (see post here: Ransom is Coming for Season 2) not only did my tweet get a great response but one of the stars of the show liked, retweeted and followed me. How fantastic I was over the moon 🌛and it gives you such a boost when you get interactions like this. 🤗

My 2nd exciting fangirl moment was relating to another show that I have written about, The Eleven which aired last year on Crime + Investigation channel, see that post here Crime + Investigation – New Show The Eleven   a key person involved in the show Lise Olsen, retweeted my tweet commending the show. 👏🏻 It truly is an eye opener if you get a chance to watch.

Lastly I have wrote about Silent Witness and my excitement of it being back (Silent Witness is back) and have to applaud Emilia Fox and Liz Carr on their interactions with fans. They have totally made some true fangirling moments for Katie and I this week, check out Katie’s blog here Life Withh KT Kinnes.

Have you had some fan girl moments on Twitter or any other platform I would love to know what? How did it make you feel? I know I was totally boosted but they likes, retweets and comments it’s just a fantastic feeling 😊

Hope you keep on checking my blog and here’s to more Twitter fangirling moments, Happy Viewing All 📺❤️💋

How do I watch great British Shows outside of UK? 📺❤️💋

When I started my blog last year I only ever thought of a UK audience, understandable really as I’m based in East Yorkshire, UK. However I do know that our great British Shows have a huge audience outside of the UK so how do they get there fix?

Well there is some great streaming services that they can use just ask my friend Pami in Cali! She is currently abandoning all housework to binge watch some great shows on Britbox and Acorn TV.

Between these 2 streaming services they can watch Coronation Street, EastEnders along with Silent Witness and Vera there is such a variety between these 2 services. Starting from $4.99 per month you can get your fix very easily and newer British Shows seem to be added relatively quickly.

So if you follow my Sunday Update and like the sound of the new BBC & ITV dramas you can be sure that US peeps will find them on 1 of these 2 services. I’d love to know if any of the US followers have used either service? Drop me a comment below.

Silent Witness is back – New 10 parter coming Monday 8th January 📺❤️💋

For the last few years January has always had some welcome staples to the TV Schedules and Silent Witness is definitely 1 of those. Starting on BBC 1 on Monday 8th January at 9pm, we see 5 different stories every Monday and Tuesday for the next 5 weeks.

Like Castle that I posted about yesterday (read that here: Castle – A Great TV Show? You decide) I was very late to the party on this 1 I’ve only watched for the last 4-5 years and I’m obsessed. This show has been running since February 1996 and now in 2018 we are starting the year with Series 21! Can you believe how long it’s been running? Not surprising it’s a great show with a great cast. Comprising of Emilia Fox, David Caves, Richard Lintern and Liz Carr, who’s character, Clarissa is definitely 1 of my faves.

So how does this show keep on running after all these years? I think personally for me it is down to the great cast from Amanda Burton to Emilia Fox in 2004 the transition was seamless but also the great story lines with every episode being upto date and relevant.

Have you always watched Silent Witness? I watched it every now and again with Amanda Burton but as said above have only been an avid watcher in recent years. I love the intensity of the weekly 2 parters and also how ongoing storylines carry through the 5 week run.

So comment below will you be watching? What do you love about Silent Witness?

Castle – A Great TV Show? You decide 📺❤️💋

If you haven’t seen Castle before then now is your chance. YourTV, available on Freeview (72) Sky (199) Youview (72) and Freesat (156), are airing the show from Season 1 starting Monday at 8pm.

Castle is a great procedural TV drama with a twist and once you start watching you can’t stop. We follow renowned author Richard Castle as he joins Detective Kate Beckett and co to assist in solving the case of a copycat murderer who is recreating scenes from his Nikki Heat novels.

I was late to the party on this 1 starting a few seasons in on Alibi but luckily they repeated it from S1 and I got to watch it all and I’m so glad I did. Airing in US from 2009 – 2016. 8 glorious seasons to watch and whilst we see the relationship develop between Kate and Rick there is a great ensemble cast with their own intertwined storylines.

Whether it be a re-watch or the 1st watch I don’t believe this will disappoint it has it all, crime, drama, comedy with very likeable characters. Let me know if you’ve seen before or will be watching for the 1st time?

New Year New Shows Part 2 📺❤️💋

If you’ve seen my earlier post (check it out here https://wp.me/p90g6e-hQ) I’ve already highlighted 3 great shows that are starting next week. Did you know there is more? Yes New Year always brings New Shows so todays post is about some more TV that is coming our way in 2018. Enjoy! 😊

Hard Sun Saturday 6th January 2018 9:35pm on BBC1

This 6 part drama is a 6 part pre-apocalyptic crime show. Set in London it follows 2 detectives that are investigating a murder and find evidence that the world will destruct in 5 years, A classified dossier is leaked but the British Government is discrediting this and the detectives are pursued by Security Services who are trying to keep them quiet. If you like murder, conspiracy theories then this is a show for you.

Next of Kin Tuesday 8th January 2018 9pm on ITV

I am very excited for this as I love Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife) and Jack Davenport (This Life). We get to follow Mona and her husband Guy as a bomb goes off in London at the same time her brother is abducted and then murdered in Pakistan. Mona’s seemingly charmed life is then rocked when her nephew Danish (Danny), vanishes from university and is then tied to not just the bombing but his fathers murder. We see how far Mona and family will go to protect their family with I’m sure is a lot of twists and turns. Another fantastic 6 part drama to get stuck into.

Kiri Wednesday 10th January 2018 9pm on Channel 4

This 4 part drama stars the BAFTA Award Winner Sarah Lancashire as Miriam, a social worker who lives and breathes her job and wholeheartedly protects the children in her care. She organises for Kiri to have an unsupervised visit with her biological grandparents but during this visit Kiri disappears. Suspicion and blame firmly lands with Miriam and we see how she and the families deal with the intense scrutiny from Police and Press and even her colleagues. Very powerful drama and not to be missed.

McMafia – New Years Day and Tuesday 2nd January 9pm on BBC1

James Norton is Alex Godman, a British raised son of a Russian Mafia boss and he is trying to turn his back on the family business. Writer Hossein Amini is quoted as saying ‘almost like Game of Thrones but with Mobs’ Follow Alex who is blackmailed into going back in the business over this 8 part mini series. Based on 2008 bestseller by Misha Glenny, McMafia Crime Without Frontiers.

Girlfriends – Wednesday 2nd January 9pm – ITV

I love a Kay Mellor drama! Having watched her recent work on BBC1 with Love Lies and Records I am certainly looking forward to this 6 part drama. Follows 3 women, Miranda Richardson, Phyllis Logan and Zoe Wanamaker, getting back together. Watch them value and rediscover their friendship. Also starring Chris Fountain (not seen him on TV in a while) and Anthony Head.

Derry Girls – Thursday 4th January 10pm – Channel 4

It’s the early 90’s we are in Northern Ireland and this family comedy follows Erin and friends whilst The Troubles are going on we follow the teenager deal with her own troubles and Murder She Wrote, The Cranberries, Doc Martens and Wayne’s World. From writer Lisa McGee it’s warm, funny and honest.
